Arctic Terning

There were a phenomenal number of Arctic Terns at Gunwade Lake this lunchtime. Brian Stone counted more than 200, and more than 160 when we arrived. They were also incredibly close at times. This is the best of the few shots I took (DSLR). What a shape! What a bird!

We had c70 Arctics at Broom at lunchtime, but not within photo range. I am gripped. Amazing how 'dirty' the Commons look by comparison.
