skylarks are disappearing fast here. as the farmers move away from traditional farming to more intensive methods (particularly vegetables), the skylarks get fewer and fewer. I now only know a few spots where one can still reliably find skylarks. I posted some photos of them recently, too.
I'm not sure what you mean about the second shot, Dale, unless you mean how come it is so bad and yet I still put it on my blog? They are not hard to find in the fens around here, though more common in the more 'generously farmed' areas. Mike
