It is
the classic time for finding newly fledged, fresh and neat juvenile Med Gulls around these parts. This bird was at baston & Langtoft pits, south Lincolnshire. Birds may in recent decades have bred among the Black-headed Gulls there, but I've never personally seen an adult here. There were plenty of young juvenile Black-headed Gulls in the largish flock this Med was resting with, which probably came from the local colony. But whether the Med itself is a local bird or a wanderer remains a mystery... Excuse grainy record shots, but that, I'm afraid is the nature of the beast.
