I hope you don't mind me asking, but as someone who admires and hopes that they can be as good a photographer one day, I am quite curious as to what type of camera/lenses you use for these amazing pictures!

Thanks for your compliments! I use two cameras. I digiscope and take macro shots (mainly insects) with a Canon PowerShot A640; and for other shots (such as flying birds) I use a Canon 30D with a 300mm f4, usually with a 1.4x converter.
My digiscoping is done though a Kowa TSN-823 scope with a 32xW eyepiece, handheld with a little plastic ring to centre the camera.
