Velvet Scoter: PBC tick No. 258

A sensational find by Josh Jones, on the River Welland, in south Lincs, between Spalding and Cowbit. This is apparently the first Velvet Scoter in the Peterborough Bird Club recording area (PBC area) since one at Bainton Pits, Cambs, in November 1983. This first-winter is not only a PBC area tick for me, but the only Velvet Scoter I have ever seen 'inland'.
