I digiscoped a couple of Greenshanks at the Prestt hide, Ferry Meadows CP, this lunchtime. However, I didn't have my usual scope, just my old Kowa TS-611, a non-ED smaller scope, which I bung in my rucksack for cycling birding to and from work. I had no tripod and the camera and scope are not really compatible for digiscoping (with loads of vignetting). However I did muster some identifiable shots... Nothing mind-blowing, but it just goes to show that it can be done
Sedge warbler by Weedons World This Sedge Warbler has seemingly picked up some of the surrounding birds of the Nene Washes RSPB, including, to my ears, Marsh Harrier yelps, Redshank and Yellow Wagtail (a perennial Sedgey favourite). Can you hear any other phrases?
Blackcapcalls by Weedons World This male Blackcap in Orton Wistow, Peterborough, today, was going mad on the calls, including a weird whine, more like a Brambling or Twite than a typical Blackcap 'tack'... I have no idea what it was complaining at.
